Four Benefits of Working With A Partner in Your Business

What is it like working with a partner in your business? I never dreamed that is what I would do; however, today I would not trade this position for anything in the world.

Over 12 years ago, I got laid off from a major corporation. I had no idea what I was going to do next. A friend asked me to help her run a networking event. I did an excellent job, and I enjoyed it. Then she asked, why don’t you to start a business doing this? Fast forward to today, Project Management Specialist has been in the making for over 12 years.

Now let’s talk about the difference between an assistant and a partner. An assistant is there when the business owner needs them for special things. A partner does day-to-day operations to help keep the client’s company going. Do you want an assistant, or do you want a partner? In effect, our team becomes your partner.

Let me share four benefits of working with a partner:

  • Reassurance of working long-term with an expert partner: Our longest-term client has been with us for 12 years. One of the benefits is we are not an employee; however, we are invested in your business. This client says “We work with PMSpecialist because we cannot imagine our business WITHOUT them! From system details to contract management and even building client relationships, PMSpecialist feels like a full time, permanent part of our business and has allowed us to focus ON the business of growing our business, while entrusting them with the necessary details of daily operations.
  • You get to focus on what you do; for example, getting more clients and more sales. Some things partners do are taking care of client relationships, project managing the work and making sure to handle the issues and meeting the deadlines.
  • You have peace of mind. When is the last time you went on a family vacation without worrying about the business? A partner knows so much about the business, the partner can run the business for the client while on vacation. Wow, what a wonderful feeling!
  • You and partner collaborate on the business direction and what the work priorities are and what the partner can do so you can move forward with the business knowing the behind the scenes and detailed work is being done. The partner is part of the team that makes the business run.
