Quick and Easy Computer Shortcuts to Put Time Back In Your Day!
Do you know there are over 100 Computer and Mac shortcuts? As I was doing the research, I was surprised at how few shortcuts I knew and used. So, what is the big deal about shortcuts?
Learning the shortcuts can benefit you and your business as using them:
- Saves time
- Improves efficiency, and
- Increases productivity.
For example: Think about how many times have you have been working on a document and you needed to go to another open program, but did not know how to do it without closing the current document?
Or how many steps did you have to do on your PC to accomplish the task? It is such a common exercise that I do, I said there had to be a more efficient way, and there is … the shortcut is Alt + Tab!
Shortcut keys provide a quick method of navigating commands in computer programs and software. Shortcut keys are made using the Alt Key (on IBM compatible computers), Command (on Apple products), and the Control or Shift Key in conjunction with another key.
I work on a PC, here are some of my favorite shortcuts:
Ctrl + A | Selects everything in a document or on the web page |
Ctrl + C or Ctrl + Insert | Highlight text first, Copy selected text |
Ctrl + F | Find or search in the document |
Ctrl + S | Save the document |
Ctrl + X | Highlight text first, Cut selected text |
Ctrl + V | Paste cut text |
Alt + Tab | Go from one open program to another |
