The Struggle is Real – It’s Time to Look to 2022 and Set Your Goals
This year has been a struggle for a lot of small businesses and while the struggle is still very real, let’s choose to focus on things we are thankful for and our focus for the future!
Our business has slowed down this year in comparison to previous years. This has allowed us to focus on what improvements we’d like to make in the business or for ourselves both professionally and personally.
Below are some things the team at PMSpecialist has been working on:
- Janine, Lillian, and I have been working on professional development.
- Updated our website to be more in line with our services and it has an updated design.
- Increased our blogging and social media presence.
- More team meetings and engagement.
- Outsourced some of our own work.
- Created templates to help others with their businesses.
- Replaced our IT Support team (see our blog on them in October).
- Created SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) of the work we do for our clients.
- Replaced our Project Management Tool.
- Learned new program skills to use for our clients and in our own business.
- Created a marketing plan.
If you have struggled this year, take a moment and reflect back on the things you’ve accomplished. It helps to write them down so you can visually see your accomplishments. Sometimes we forget our achievements from earlier in the year. So, writing them down helps you to remember and see all that you’ve done, even though it’s been a tough year.
Once you’ve listed your accomplishments for 2021, what are your goals for 2022? Make a list of short and long-term goals. If it helps, use a productivity program to help you manage them. There are some out there that offer “free” plans, like Trello or Asana. By using one of these programs to help you track your goals, you can break down each one into manageable “baby” steps to help keep you on track until you reach your desired outcome.
At PMSpecialist we are looking to what we want to accomplish in 2022. Here are some of our goals:
Janine:
- Networking (online & in-person) – getting ourselves and our business out there.
- Helping clients get to the next level in their businesses.
Lillian:
- Streamline clients through business practices.
- Remodel my office.
Linda:
- Smooth client transitions by using business enhancing programs.
- Learn our new clients business “lingo” and needs.
I challenge you to put your goals out there! Find someone (or a program) to help you stay accountable to the goals you want to achieve next year. Use your downtime to focus, complete a “baby” step, or make improvements that will streamline processes. If you would like some help to turn your goal into actionable steps, or maybe to help complete those “baby” steps, PMSpecialist is here to help and guide you and your business for a successful 2022.
