Why We Love Our Jobs as Virtual Assistants

Today as we celebrate International Virtual Assistants Day, we at Project Management Specialist would love to share why we became VAs, about the opportunity we have been fortunate to receive, and why we love what we do.

We are a team of three – Janine, Lillian, and Linda. Janine started the company when she left her corporate job. Through the years, Lillian and Linda joined the team, and we’ve expanded the services that we offer our clients. Each of us has different skill sets and personalities that complement one another allowing us to meet our client’s needs in different ways. In honor of International Virtual Assistants Day, we wanted to get some feedback from our clients and asked a few of them to “please provide 1 – 2 sentences telling us why you love having a Virtual Assistant.”

Some of you may be asking, “What is a Virtual Assistant?” You would not be alone! What we are not is AI (Artificial Intelligence) programs like Siri and Google or customer service agents like IBM’s Watson. Virtual Assistants are living, breathing, small business owners who provide services remotely to assist you in your business. VAs specialize in areas including administration, project management, bookkeeping, technology support, writing services, and the list just goes on. If they do not have to be physically in your office, a VA can handle that work for you. Completing tasks you don’t want to do (or can’t do) and work for just the hours you need them. No overhead, such as equipment, healthcare coverage, or taxes, your VA will take care of those things themselves.

Janine was the first to take the virtual assistant training to become a Certified Virtual Expert through the Virtual Expert® Training Program. Lillian and Linda are now doing the same. The training provides the skills to better serve our client’s needs. It also prepares us to run our own business and use what we’ve learned to consult with our clients on potential business improvements.

I love working with a virtual assistant because it frees me to focus on the things I love to do … like spending time with my clients without worrying about whether the details are being handled!
